27th June 2014 (Friday)
No. 1, Jalan Besar
Pasir Penambang
Kuala Selangor
Selangor
While on the way to my mother-in-law's house at Sungai Panjang, Sungai Besar, Sabak Bernam, Selangor, I was still not quite healthy and did less eat since morning, then began to feel hungry. Hunger came when I enterted to get into LATAR Expressway E25. I recommended to my wife that we want to taste seefood at Pasir Penambang, just after the bridge of Kuala Selangor. She even agreed.
It showed at 1830 hours (6:30 pm) whan we arrived there. Just take a left turn at second traffic light junction (the first one at Kuala Selangor's Giant) which is after the Caltex station. Then take a left turn again when reach next junction (less than 100 meters from the traffic light junction). Then continue to the end of the road through the small town of Pasir Penambang (can say it is a Chinese town), then will see two large restaurants, one is the River View Seafood Restaurant. Another is Jeti Restaurant which I will cover after on, insya Allah.
Operation hours for the restaurants is as below. So it open longer, not like Kang Guan Restaurant in Pulau Carey, which only open at lunch and dinner.
Monday to Saturday: 11:00 am to 23:00 (11:00 pm)
Sunday and Public Holidays: 11:00 am to 22:00 (10:00 pm).
There is also phone numbesr to book or inquiry (see pictures below).
The restaurant is pork free and only serves seafood only, chicken and beef are on the menu is from halal meat. Because of the restaurant also offered beer, that why there no halal certification and logo at the restaurant.
There's free WiFi service. Password is displayed in the front of the cashier counter (I should not publish here, just come here and take it, hehehe). So while waiting, we can surf the internet or update status in Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp or other social media, or upload to Instagram with no cost except payment of food.
The scenery at these restaurant is also very beautiful and interesting, even when we came in, haze being hitted in Peninsular Malaysia. We came in the evening near to dusk, we saw view of water village of Pasir Penambang, part of Kuala Selangor old town, Kuala Selangor's bridge, the atmosphere around the mouth of Selangor River and some activities at Selangor River. Very peacefull. Felt want to sit here for a long time.
The restaurant is also quite clean and bright, even after being over 7 hours of operation. When we came in, the customer is still there even though not many. Not far from our table, there were some Japanese expatriates (probably from the embassy, because there are 09-DC car plate which is for Japanese diplomats) were enjoying the food. Also there are some customers Malay / Muslims were enjoying their food.
Menu was given as we arrived. Service was very good by the waiters consisting of foreigners, probably from Myanmar, from their appearance (and there was no doubt when they talked to each other, I could heard it was in Burma/Myanmar), and most importantly, they were fluent in Malay.
I ordered as our usual food in Chinese style seafood restaurant:
- Sweet & Sour Mud Crabs (here can order for half a kilogram of crab, so I ordered half a kilogram);
- River View Chinese Fry Bread ;
- Butter Fried Sea Prawns (in XL to XL size) (orderd this because they do not have Nestum Fried Sea Prawns);
- Sizzling Japanese Tofu; and
- As common in Chinese restaurants, a pot of chinese tea.
Within 5 minutes, our first meals come with rices and drinks with chopped green chillies and garlic (light soy sauce was already available on the table). Whitin 15 minutes from the time of ordering, all of meals were arrived on our table. Very fast service.

We were very appetite especially our children engrossed ask prawn, prawn. prawn... Thier parents were busy doing with crabs. It was delicious, especially I really interested in the Chinese way of cooking. But from my taste, the sweet sour crab can not matched Kang Guan Restaurant in Pulau Carey. More sour, probably because extra tomatoes. Sizzling tofu was a good bit. As whole, we can come again to this restaurant.
Handwash area and toilet very clean just do not like toilet at nornal Chinese restaurants outside of the city. The atmosphere was cheerful. Eh! Not want to stay here hehehe.
In addition, the restaurant is also have sightseeing service at Selangor River, there is a jetty at the edge of the restaurant.
Credit card can be used for payment. But for RM100 and above only. How much was my bill? See as below:
Huh, did not expected very cheap, cheaper than any place even Malay style seafood restaurant. It was a happy evening.
It can come here at next time.
