17th Jun 2014 (Tuesday)

Yong Tau Foo Kg Pandan
Jalan Thaver, Kg Pandan
Kuala Lumpur

Time on my watch showed 12:15 pm. My wife and I just got out of the building of Ampang Hospital after my wife had a check up for miscarriage. My stomach felt hungry because it was already in the afternoon and we just ate a little for our breakfast.

We discussed, what and where to eat for lunch. Many were proposed, suddenly my suggested to at Yong Tau Foo Kg Pandan. Actually, we have not been there quite a long time. Plus, it situated on the way to home, just having to divert a little from MRR2.

As Besraya Highway Extension has been opened and located near Ampang Hospital, then it shortens our trip as we do not have to go through a lot of traffic lights.

Within 20 minutes (this time we rode your Kriss 100 motorcycle, so need more force to accelerate), we arrived at our destination, Yong Tau Foo Kg Pandan, which is located in Thaver, Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, yes, in Kuala Lumpur not in Selangor. The restaurant is located not far from the Kampung Pandan Fish Head Curry Restaurant, and is after that restaurant if from MRR2 or Kg Pandan. If from MRR2, take exit after Tecso Ampang and then turn left (if take the right lane, will make a U-turn at the MRR2 heading back south).

When we arrived, many people are already lining up. This restaurant is popular,even appeared in various television programmes such as Jalan-jalan Cari Makan on TV3.

Finally after 10 minutes, it was my turn to take the materials for yong tau foo. Lots of choices.

Besides yong tau foo, there are also other foods but this time, we are focused on the yong tau foo only.

There also has a lot choice of drinks. Usual, fruits juice and not usual drinks can be selected.

The restaurant is opened from Saturday to Thursday from 11:00 am to 21:00 (9:00 pm). On Friday, if come to this restaurant, sorry, it is closed ...

Hah, finally just can not wait to eat. This is our victim (actually more to me, because my wife would love to eat but not much she ate, maybe because she was confinement (due to miscarriage) and no appetite.

I took 2 rolls of kuay teow (flatten rice noodles) mixed with yong tau foo special soy sauce to be chee cheong fun... Nyum nyum...

For the yong tau foo although I believed I took only a little, bun when be served, it was a lot, huhuhu. I chose soupy yong tau foo (if experts say this Cantonese style yong tau foo). Yong tau foo can also be dry one which the special sauce and soy sauce chilli sauce mixed directly with yong tau foo (Teow Chew style) which how most Malay eat. This store is an expert in yong tau foo.

Alhamdulillah, how a good eat. Forgot to mention, the price of the meal will be written at the edge of the plate (I forgot to take the picture). When to pay, just tell how much that written. Mine was cost of RM11.80 where yong tau foo + chee cheong fun only RM10.50 and drinks (warmed barley and warmed water) at RM1.30 only. Affordable and cheaper than buy yong tau foo at the night market.

(Everything is ok, but for me, the chili sauce was not my favourite).
At this visit, I give (full mark is five (äääää)):
1. Foodääää;
2. Surroundingäää;
3. Serviceäää1/2;
4. Priceäää ä;

17 Jun 2014 (Selasa)

Yong Tau Foo Kg Pandan
Jalan Thaver, Kg Pandan
Kuala Lumpur

Banyak pilihan, agak rambang mata. Tapi kalau makan ikut nafsu memang semua hendak ambil.

Dia kata suka tengok saya makan. BIAR BETIK!!!

Saya ambil 2 gulung kuay teow bercampur kuah kicap khas yong tau foo untuk dijadikan chee cheong fun... Nyum nyum...

1. Makanan: ääää;
2. Persekitaran: äää;
3. Perkhidmatan: äää1/2;

28th May 2014 (Wednesday)

Warung Sinarnor
Jalan Dua, Sungai Besi
Kuala Lumpur

At this morning, I felt want to eat the food which I did not ate for long time. So, I rode my scooter to Jalan Sungai Besi from Sungai Besi  roundabout. After that, I rode until I reached Southgate on my left and then I turned into Jalan Dua.

I continued to 300 metre and reached with a stall on the left. This stall called Warong Sinarnor. Actually this stall sold many type of breakfast like nasi lemak and lontong. But for this time, I emphasise on soto.

Insya Allah at next time, I will cover for nasi lemak dan lontong at Warong Sinarnor, which also very delicious. Insya Allah.

What the attraction matter of the soto here is the soto used old chicken as main flavour. Beside shredded old chicken become its garnishing, other parts of old chicken like glizzard, liver, egg and feet can be ordered to be added into the soto. These part have different flavour and tastier than regular chicken.

In addition of bergedel, perkhh it always can be remembered if we did not eaten this soto.The soup, was matched with other ingredients. This soto can be eaten with pressed rice, yellow noodle, vermicelli or kuay teow.

With special drink which only be sold at soto kaunter, barley, will relieve the thirst. Slurp after slurp into my mouth, feel like this world was mine, alhamdulillah.

Look, I ate until no more left. Total of my breakfast was RM7.50, which RM1.50 was for barley drink and soto with vermicelli, bergedel and mixture of old chicken glizzard, egg and feet priced RM6.00.

Actually the soto without bergedel and old chicken parts with is regular soto priced RM3.00. Very worth. So, come to Warong Sinarnor to taste the soto.

At this visit, I give (full mark is five (äääää)):
1. Foodääää;

28 Mei 2014 - Warung Sinarnor, Jalan Dua, Sungai Besi, KL - Soto Ayam Pencen.

28 Mei 2014 (Rabu)

Warung Sinarnor
Jalan Dua, Sungai Besi
Kuala Lumpur

Lihat, sampai licin saya makan.

25th May 2014 - Al Tasneem Restaurant, North Bidge Road, Singapore (In Front of Sultan Mosque) - Red Bone (Tulang Merah).

25th May 2014 (Sunday)

Al Taneem Restaurant
709 North Bridge Road
SINGAPORE 198681

At 1515H (3:15 pm Singapore time), I arrived at HarbourFront, Singapore ferry pier after finished my journey at Batam. I got some rest in HarbourFront Centre shopping complex to think, what should I do, because my flight (TigerAir TR2468) boarding gate only will open at 2105 (9:05 pm). I had 5 hour plus more time to spare.

So I just remembered that I did not had opportunity to taste Red Bone on my Singapore visit at 08th March 2014 ago. Therefore, I took a decision to go to Kampung Glam to taste the Red Bone. So, I needed to ride MRT from HarbourFront MRT Station to Bugis MRT Station where the nearest MRT station to Kampung Glam. I needed to transit from Northeast Lane which purple in colour to East West Lane which in green colour at Outram Park MRT Station.

I arrived at Bugis MRT Station and took Exit B to Raffles Hospital at Victoria Street. After passed Golden Landmark shopping complex, I turned to right into Arab Street to heading North Bridge Road and then when reached at traffic lighted junction of Arab Street and North Bridge Road, I turned left. Here, we will find Zam-zam Restaurant first, then Victory Restaurant and at the end of the row, I arrived to the destination which was Al-Tasneem Restaurant.

This restaurant actually opposite of Sultan Mosque, Kampung Glam, Singapore's mihrab and just near gate 8 and 1 of the mosque. When I arrived there, around 1625 (4:25 pm), I asked whether the red bone or tulang merah in Malay been sold. Alhamdulillah, the owner said it has, the I ordered a Red Bone small plate, a glass of milked iced tea and a glass of iced water.

After 2 minutes, my ordered drinks arrived, and simultaneously Asar prayer call been heard from Sultan Mosque. At first, I want to pray with Sultan Mosque jammah but the I just remembered that I did not have my Zohor prayer, plus I intended  to perfom jama' ta'khir prayer (combined Zohor and Asar prayer together) while on the ferry journey from Batam Centre to HarbourFront.

Finally, at 1635 (4:35 pm), my meal had arrived... RED BONE... Flamely red... But do not be fooled... It not a hot meal...

Red Bone is made from sheep bone which cooked with special spices. It is a special meal in Singapore and only can be found at certain Indian Muslim Restaurant especially at Kampung Glam/Arab Street or Little India/Kandang Kerbau area. Some said that at Golden Mile shopping complex food court, is among the best, may on next trip to Singapore, I will taste it, insya Allah. At Johor Bahru also got this meal especially at Sentral/Meldrum area but could not be compared with Singapore one.

In my dish which is small plate Red Bone, there were five sheep bone with marrow, some cord vein and some meat. The gravy very special. It came with some slices of bread to be dipped with gravy. I shocked when I received this meal, can I finish it? But I have to finish it because after this I will fly not ride in a bus or drive my own vehicle.

The taste, perrrkhhh, nobody can be told... The I selfied as bellow...

BOOONNNEEEE EAAAATTIIIIINGGG!!! HAAUUMMMM!!!

At last, about 45 minutes later, I finished my Red Bone. Alhamdulillah. Very graced. Insya Allah, I will come here again.

About SG$11.20 (+-RM29.12) been damaged on this visit, alhamdulillah. Even though on RM value, it was expensive, but it was worthwhile... Insya Allah, I will come here or other restaurant to have it again or lamb soup...Nyum nyummm...

At this visit, I give (full mark is five (äääää):
1. Food: ääää;
2. Surroundingää1/2;
3. Serviceää1/2;
4. Priceää 1/4;
