25 Mei 2014 (Ahad)

Restoran Al Taneem
709 North Bridge Road
SINGAPURA 198681

2. Persekitaran: ää1/2;

19th May 2014 (Monday)

At this morning, I drove my wife's cute car to my workplace with her and my little daughter. Usually, I just ride my kapcai motorcycle, but this day, I have to outstation, so I did not need to punch card. Furthermore, I need to take office car, so my wife sent me to the office as I do not need to leave my motorcycle at office for two days.

Before we arrived at the office, actually we did not had our breakfast yet. So I suggested to get breakfast at Tanglin Food Court, in front of Tanglin Goverment Clinic at Jalan Cenderasari. That was a long time, we had not been here.

Drove my car to Tugu roundabout, near Old Train Station of KL, KTMB headquarters and National Mosque, took back Jalan Sultan Hishamudin towards Merdeka Square, then take a slip road just after National Mosque to Jalan Cenderasari which Ministry of Health's old office.

Beside that, other landmark at Jalan Cenderasari is Methodist Girls' School (MGS).

After MGS, just take right slip way to Tanglin car parking space, where Tangling Food Court is situated.

Across of this parking space, there is Tanglin Government Clinic, which in British Imperial administration was a hospital and then been converted to special government clinic to government servant. Now, it is an public government clinic.

Consequently, dining table in front of the food outlet, where we want to order our meal was nobody sat, so we sat there. Then we ordered Special Curry Noodle and Wan Tan Hor (in Malay been called Mee Kicap).  Difference special meal and regular one are the special one will get some prawns, wantan and extra peeled cockles, where regular one only have a little peeled cockles.

The taste of both meal are the best, because my preference is more to Chinese Style. The curry broth taste less curry but more to anchovies sambal. Actually this outlet serve other Chinese style meal like char kuey teow, Chinese styled fried rice, Kungfu noodles dan others.

The price was equal to the quality and taste, even though quite more than other place. The price are: regular RM4.50, big RM5.50 and special RM7.00.

At this food court, there are other popular outlet and they are champion in their meals, for example:

No 6 outlet, Nasi Lemak Tanglin;

No. 1 outlet, there was no sugn board, but specialty of this outlet is what other normal kopitiam offered like white coffee, cham (mixture of coffee and tea) and some other food like toast and steamed bread and soft boiled egg.

And, no 5. outlet, with the famous Tanglin grilled fish (at the morning they sold Malay styled breakfast, not the main specialty).

Insya Allah, I will give a comment for these other outlet in future articles.

If you like Chinese styled breakfast, please come to no. 4 outlet at Tanglin Food Court, insya Allah, your appetite will be satisfied,
Jika anda memang minat makanan ala Cina, silakan datang dan rasai makanan di sini (gerai nombor 4), insya Allah pasti memuaskan hati anda.

At this visit, I give (full mark is five (äääää)):
1. Food: ääää;
2. Surroundingäää;
3. Serviceäää;
4. Price: äää 1/4;

19 Mei 2014 - Mee Goreng Tanglin, Jalan Cenderasari, KL - Mee Kari & Mee Kicap Cara Cina.

19 Mei 2014 (Isnin)

Contohnya:

Gerai nombor 6, Nasi Lemak Tanglin;

Gerai nombor 1, tiada papan tanda, istimewa gerai ini adalah minuman seperti kopitiam seperti  kopi putih, cham (kopi dan teh campur) dan makanan seperti roti bakar dan kukus serta telur separuh masak;

17th May 2014 - Kang Guan Restaurant, Teluk Panglima Garang (Carey Island) - Seafood Chinese Style.

17th May 2014 (Saturday)

Today, my wife and I felt there was a long time that we have not eaten ketam nipah (mud crab). But when I thought back, it was not. We just ate it while our journey vacation at Kota Kinabalu at the end of March 2014. But, actually, we want to eat at our usual place for Chinese style seafood at Teluk Panglima Garang, Banting or easy to say (Pulau) Carey Island, because this restaurant situated just before a bridge to Carey Island.

Our last time we went here was just before our haj pilgrimage journey to Makkah at middle of September 2013. As below is Kang Guan Restaurant in Google Maps. So we went there with our childrens.

See Kang Guan Restaurant  in bigger map.

There are a lot of way to get here from KL. If before, we used Federal Highway through Klang city, but as we know, the traffic quite congested. Other way which can be used is Shah Alam Expressway E5 (KESAS), but the toll rate is very expensive, which every toll plaza need to pay RM2.20. There are 3 plazas so overall RM6.60 for single journey and return will be RM13.20!!! Plus, we need also to use federal trunk road trough Sijangkang and Teluk Panglima Garang town and some settlement like Kampung Johan Setia, in addition with several traffic lighted junctions.

Alhamdulillah, after South Klang Valley Expressway E26 (SKVE) been opened almost two years ago, the journey to Carey Island easier and shorter. With toll rate just RM3.70 one way (RM7.40 for return) from Ayer Hitam Toll Plaza (near Putrajaya, Sri Kembangan and Puchong) to Teluk Panglima Garang Toll Plaza, plus Sungai Besi Highway E9 (Besraya) which is RM1.30 per journey (RM2.60 return) at MINES Toll Plaza, cheaper journey than before.

In additional, it is nearer, when exiting SKVE highway at Teluk Panglima Garang, it already a short distance to the destination. Just take right turn at traffic lighted junction after toll plaza, which is just follow Pulau Carey road marking. Do not turn left, because the road (federal trunk road 5) heading to Jenjarom, Banting, Sepang, Port Dickson and so on.

After next two kilometres, a sign board showed a roundabout ahead and Carey Island exit is on 9 o'clock direction or on left exit. If straight to the right (3 o'clock direction) will head to Teluk Panglima Garang and Klang, also can go to Shah Alam Expressway E5.  Do not worry, just before the roundabout, a road marker to Carey Island is very clear. So take left turn at the roundabout.

After left turn, keep on the road until two more kilometres and will reach a crossroad junction. As been showed at sign board, Carey Island is on right turn. Be careful after take right turn, do not so fast press your gas peddle, because the destination is just arrive.

About 300 metres, you can find a bridge. This bridge is Carey Island bridge over Langat River. A slip road to Kang Guan Restaurant is situated just before the bridge. On the right of the road, there also a Chinese seafood restaurant, but I more regular with Kang Guan Restaurant.

Hah, we have already arrived. Car parking are plenty and easy here. Even, when a lot of customers in the restauranr, there still parking, do not worry. As we arrived here, there were many people already.

Business hours for this restaurant as below:

Monday to Friday
12:00 noon until 14:30 (2:30 PM)
18:00 (6:00 PM) until 22:00 (10:00 PM)

Saturday
12:00 noon until 15:00 (3:00 PM)
18:00 (6:00 PMuntil 22:00 (10:00 PM)

Sunday
12:00 noon until 15:00 (3:00 PM)
17:45 (5:45 PMuntil 22:00 (10:00 PM).

If possible, please make a reservation first, because in many time, no more table available. Telephone number is as above. As my experience, at lunch time, favorable menus like mud crabs and others finished , which new stocks will arrive at 16:00 (4:00 PM) every day. That whay, I always come for dinner.

Therefore, night is cooler, if in afternoon there will hotter if we occupy at natural air area. I prefer natural air area because we can see scenic of Carey Island, Langat River and Carey Island itself. In the sunset time, there will very peacefull and nice view here. At this restaurant, air conditioned room also available.

If we so luckey, if we get table at riverside, we can see some fish keep swim and eat. But at this time, all riverside tables were already occupied. But we still can viewed it but not while we eating. Langat river were on tide, because Carey Island area are situated at Langat River and Klang River, just very near the sea.

For this time, we ordered sweet and sour mud crab, fried self made buns, fried sea prawns with Nestum and claypot japanese bean curd. As usual at Chinese restaurant, we ordered chinese tea. In this restaurant, no need to order the meals base on how many people, the waiter/waitress will can estimate for you. But for crab, there need to order at least a kilogram.

As usual, a plate of nuts will serve to you as we wait for our meals arrive. My 2 years daughter conqured most of these nuts. She very like with nuts, as most of cashew nuts which i brought at Hat Yai when my jouney to Ranong, Thailand dan Kawthoung, Myanmar two weeks before, she finished it, huhuhu...

Our tea with iced Milo (chocolate) for my son arrived. The tea will come with a big bowl of ice. The tea was free flowed, if the water finished, it can be added with hot water, so do the ice.

After half an hour, eventhough there were a lot of customers, our food were arrived. I asked two plates of white rice for my son and I. Very delicious. Very recommended to order fried sea prawn with nestum because it taste sweet and buttery. Even tastier than butter fried prawn. I always order fried sea prawn with nestum because prawn is my son favourite.

Claypot japanese bean curd also nice, but just remembered, I supposed asked for sizzling bean curd, it just like ladna bean curd (Thai dish), as our usual order menu. But this meal is ok, with a lot of vegetables.

Crab will eaten at last. This time, we got three crabs, but in medium sized. Huh, like in heaven, with fried buns dipped with sweer sour sauce. Sorry, I not took picture of fried bun, because my hands have already dirty. I very like mud crab because its meat always plenty and packed, not disappointed like other sea crabs, which their meat influenced with sea tide and moon phase. Plus, eat the claws that very big, huh, it a sensation, hehehe...

Make more fun, to break the crabs' shell, need to use hammer. Fun... The crabs price was cheaper that other place around Klang Valley, with this time, it cost about RM54.00 per kilograms (more expensive than before, basiclly I got around RM40.00 to RM50.00 per kilogra, depand season).

After an hour, our stomach already fulled. All meals were finished except for the crabs, there were still half meals, then we asked for take away. Want to eat more, but can not be pushed more... Huhuhu...

I asked for the bill for payment, and the receipt as above. There was RM107.00 be victimised... Hehehe... If at other place, there will more to pay. Satisfction in eating is the most importance.

At last, we back to home after done. We recommend to come here. Very satisfied. For your information, this restaurant is pork free restaurant. Because of I often came here since I was little, so there no problem for me. When we came, there a lot of Malay Muslim ate here. Furthermore, this restaurant only served seafood and venison (halal slaughtered) (as we came, venison already finished). Maybe this restaurant served beer, so there no halal recognition (just like most hotel in Malaysia).

At this visit, I give (full mark is five (äääää)):
1. Food: ääää;
2. Surrounding: äää 1/2;
3. Service: äää 1/2;
4. Price: ääää1/4;
5. Overall: ääää.

Have a nice meal. Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarukatuh.
