Yong Tau Foo Kg Pandan
Kuala Lumpur
Time on my watch showed 12:15 pm. My wife and I just got out of the building of Ampang Hospital after my wife had a check up for miscarriage. My stomach felt hungry because it was already in the afternoon and we just ate a little for our breakfast.
We discussed, what and where to eat for lunch. Many were proposed, suddenly my suggested to at Yong Tau Foo Kg Pandan. Actually, we have not been there quite a long time. Plus, it situated on the way to home, just having to divert a little from MRR2.
As Besraya Highway Extension has been opened and located near Ampang Hospital, then it shortens our trip as we do not have to go through a lot of traffic lights.
Within 20 minutes (this time we rode your Kriss 100 motorcycle, so need more force to accelerate), we arrived at our destination, Yong Tau Foo Kg Pandan, which is located in Thaver, Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, yes, in Kuala Lumpur not in Selangor. The restaurant is located not far from the Kampung Pandan Fish Head Curry Restaurant, and is after that restaurant if from MRR2 or Kg Pandan. If from MRR2, take exit after Tecso Ampang and then turn left (if take the right lane, will make a U-turn at the MRR2 heading back south).
When we arrived, many people are already lining up. This restaurant is popular, even appeared in various television programmes such as Jalan-jalan Cari Makan on TV3.
Finally after 10 minutes, it was my turn to take the materials for yong tau foo. Lots of choices.
Besides yong tau foo, there are also other foods but this time, we are focused on the yong tau foo only.
There also has a lot choice of drinks. Usual, fruits juice and not usual drinks can be selected.
The restaurant is opened from Saturday to Thursday from 11:00 am to 21:00 (9:00 pm). On Friday, if come to this restaurant, sorry, it is closed ...
Hah, finally just can not wait to eat. This is our victim (actually more to me, because my wife would love to eat but not much she ate, maybe because she was confinement (due to miscarriage) and no appetite.
I took 2 rolls of kuay teow (flatten rice noodles) mixed with yong tau foo special soy sauce to be chee cheong fun... Nyum nyum...
For the yong tau foo although I believed I took only a little, bun when be served, it was a lot, huhuhu. I chose soupy yong tau foo (if experts say this Cantonese style yong tau foo). Yong tau foo can also be dry one which the special sauce and soy sauce chilli sauce mixed directly with yong tau foo (Teow Chew style) which how most Malay eat. This store is an expert in yong tau foo.
Alhamdulillah, how a good eat. Forgot to mention, the price of the meal will be written at the edge of the plate (I forgot to take the picture). When to pay, just tell how much that written. Mine was cost of RM11.80 where yong tau foo + chee cheong fun only RM10.50 and drinks (warmed barley and warmed water) at RM1.30 only. Affordable and cheaper than buy yong tau foo at the night market.
(Everything is ok, but for me, the chili sauce was not my favourite).
